Default criticize this detail

I did my first attempt to restore old and neglected paint on my friends mustang he just picked up for three grand.

The previous owner had some enemies for sure. The car has been egged, and the doors were keyed. On top of that the parts that were not vandalized were completely neglected of any kind of cleaning product. Also the drivers door was off of a red car and it was half *** repainted.

Anyway i tried to restore what little potential this car had. Results came out better than i thought although still pretty beat up.

before
egg marks
Front left fender
front right fender
trunk hood

an unexpected outcome was the front of the car. For those of you who own black cars you know very well that paint chips GLOW

well the car was so damn dirty before hand that after i cleaned, and buffed it, the paint chips were even more obvious than before

over all the car looks 10 times better than it did. It still looks like **** to a lot of you guys but my friend was pretty happy with results.

your opinions are more than welcome. positive or negetive.

I think you did a good job working with what you had! sometimes you can only do so much with what you have to work with. but with that said if the egg chips or paint chips in general bug me enough i usually fill em in and level them off with a wetsand and 3 stage rotary buff. however if you ever have questions about detailing or what not feel free to ask me.

good job on that car, but there are some circumstances where the car just needs a paint job. and this is one of those circumstances, HAHA !!!!!

well, maybe just the front bumper. but then you risk the car looking funny when the old paint finally goes back to "looking like old paint"

Yeah. The paint for sure is ruined but a three thousand dollar car ain't worth all new paint. The Hood and bumper may be painited though. I just wanted to see if there was any hope left... LOL I tried

All it needs is $600 for a paint job and it will look brand new.

Certainly an improvement!

What exactly did you do to the car?
