Default Anyone near fort worth working in the oil field?

Well to make a long story short. I used to work in the oil field as a pumper, but i quit to go to school. But now i'm ready to get back in. Problem is i used to work in Oklahoma and I don't have any connections down here. I'm looking for a pumper job again. If anyone isn't familiar with it. You basically get assigned 30-40 wells and take care of them every day. It's a good job. But I was wandering if anyone might work for devon, chesapeake, xto etc. any company associated with the barnett shale. I'm just looking to make some connections or see if anyone can point me in the right direction. Like i said i'm not looking for a job on a rig or anything like that. Thank you.

Only way to get on with devon is to apply online.

Yea I called Devon and chesapeake and they told me to look at their website. Neither one of them have any openings around here. I guess I don't have to be a pumper but I want to get involved again. I just refuse to work on a rig. To dangerous for me.

Thanks 01s0m. I will check into it And jdmoore what I went to school for didn't have anything to do with the oilfield. But experience isn't my problem. I have plenty experience. But like I said. I have no connections down here and don't know who to call. Unfortanatly it's usually about who u know and not what u know. Jdmoore who did u work for? Thanks guys

I work for Basin Tool. They are a rental company now but use to have a close loop side. Try Sun Drilling. They pay pretty once you get to salary. They also pay for all your gas. Patterson, H&P, and Felderhoff are the big rig companies around here. I also heard that Weatherford is hiring right now.

I know of a company in N. Dakota that pays really well. Better than most rig companies. Start off close to 300 and after a while they pay 400 a day. Pay for your flight there and back and also have a pretty nice trailer for you to stay in while you are there.

That sounds cool but I'm looking for something where i can stay locally. I really dont want to be traveling all the time and i definantly dont wanna relocate. I really like the fort worth area. I'm gonna do some checking into weatherford.

I would check them out or Sun Drilling. BJ oilfield services is a pretty big company locally. I wish I had my hardhat with me and I could tell you most of the places that are local. I keep on talking myself out of going back. I love the money but not the hours. Oh check out Haliburton also.
