Default houston raceway park (water in the gas) Beware***

Just got back home from basically hydrolocking the motor tonight. Something let go in the motor while at idle exactly 2 mins after pumping 2 gallons of VP 110 race gas in my car at the track..
I pumped the crap out and it smelled like straight water and also seperated from the fuel in a ozarka bottle.
Took the plugs out and it free'd the motor, but now I'm hearing some clacky/clangy noise coming from the top left bank. The car runs but misses pretty hard and backfires through the intake sometimes when you start it.
I took the valve covers and rockers off and everything looks ok. 2 pushrods dont roll like the others but their not severely bent or anything and dont think thats all the damage to make that noise. gonna pull the head and see what I can find tomorrow.
The plugs looked fine wich is kinda weird. Maybe its something in the bottom end that let go.
Lady at the booth admited that she sold me bad gas and told me to call them tomorrow and talk to Laronda about it, but I highly doubt their gonna do anything to help me out.
Lesson learned: Dont use their fuel!

Wow dude thats some BS. I bet they don't store their fuel properly. Don't forget to change your fuel filter.

and whats that gonna do? I will let you know now, nothing. NHRA does not regulate fuel sales at the track. Only when the pro cars are there. I agree with the op, that sucks and feel for you. They need to do something to make this right. Keep us updated on what happens.

The Texas Dept of Agriculture is responsible for inspecting pumps/equipment. I would make a call to them 1st, then VP fuels and the track. I doubt you will get very far with HRP in regards to liability, however; they can only say no. If you make stink about it i.e.. getting the DOA involved etc.. and you have an admission from a track employee, then you may just get some compensation.

DOA has nothging to do with the sales of race gas, since it is intended and labeled for Off Highway use only and does ot carry the taxes which the fuel you buy at the gas station does.

All you can do is raise hell with HRP management. NHRA and DOA is not going to do **** for you. NHRA controls the fuel for all the pro teams. I bet the pumps don't even get used at a NHRA event unless someone is needing gas for their scooter...

You can do more than raise hell. A coworker of mine got water from a gas pump. He got a sample and it was water and gas by looking at the seperation. Owner had to pay to fix everyones car that used the pump.

Go back to that pump and have them witness it. If it indeed is contaminated then either talk to them to fix your problem or take them to court.

Who said anything about the Taxman? I'm just saying the Pro Teams do not use the fuel HRP sells. C110 -C116 is the thing of the past for these high end motors.

in regards to the taxman.. I am only talking about the fuel from the pumps, not the high-end exotic **** the NHRA brings..I thought that was the point of the DOA and weights and measures, i.e. making sure they get their tax revenue from the sale of fuel.. I understand this is race gas and is exempt from state fuel taxes etc..that's all I was referring to, don't get wrapped around the axles

I posted this thread on their message board. Maybe it will catch their attention. I used to buy 110 out there all the time and always had dirt in it. Never any water. I haven't been there in about a year thou. But that was when they had SUNOCO.
