Default TNT Crandall (Dallas Raceway) Call Outs 02/05/2011

Well since I just have a slow 4 door family car I wont call out anyone. However, I will be in Dallas visting a buddy of mine and I plan on making a trip out to Dallas Raceway. My last track pass in the G8 was a 11.82 with the TVS1900 on stock stall. I have since added at FTI 3200 so I hope to gain a couple 10ths from that and then I added 75 shot on top to keep the Supercharger cool

Maybe I can get lucky and squeek out a high 10sec pass if she hooks. I may also have a Lingenfelter GT9 cam, and some suspension mods put on. I have them at the house just dont know if they will get instaled in time. I am also considering buying a set of Hoosier Slicks for my 9.5x17s C6 rear drag wheels. Currently they have 275/17 MT DR (just dont know if the will stick)

Sounds like a fun 4 door family car! I'll try to make it out there now that I got my truck back from Phoenix Transmissions. My TCI converter was crap so they replaced it with one of theirs. I should also have my headers and CME done by then.

I would like to go but, I'm going to the RKC meet with my family.

As for traction at Dallas Raceway it should be good for you.

Are you going to Crandall?

If I go to Crandall then I probably won't be able to race... My son has me on his **** list because he didn't get to go last time to the track.

It's hard to take him when I don't have someone to watch him..

I will see if my wife wants to go to the track and let him watch me race.

I finally get to make a track appearance free of kids!!! So when I am not running I have no problem keeping an eye on him.

So Joe do you think the 275 MT DR on my 17s will be enough or do I need to order the Hoosier 17 Slicks? I am using GTO wheels as front runners on the front. The rear are C6 9.5x17

I dont want to have to spend another $450 on slicks when the MT DR have a ton of tread left. I just dont want to come out and spin and run worse.

You should have no problem hooking with the 275 MT DR 17s.

I used Joels a couple times and did fine.

Also if I go and you spin.. I can let you use my 26x 11.5 15 MT E/T Streets

Also if you buy some new tires just bring th DR out to the track with you.. Hell I know tons of people out there that will pay you to run a couple passes on them lol

Joels going to start his own business out there doing this lol

Rent a Slick TM ______SSHAWK owns company name lol

Well the problem is on the G8 due to the calipers we cant run anything smaller then a custom CCW/Bogart 16"

I guess we will just see what she can do on the 275s. I may even make a couple passes on my street tires.....well kind of street tires. They are 305/30/19 Toyo Proxes R888. They are pretty stick but are a road race tire and not a Drag Radial. so we shall see.

I would do a Hoosier over a MT. They are lighter and hook better in my experience.

I had a chat with Hoosier the other day. I'll be staying with a drag radial as I was instead of going with slicks. Everything I've read and talking to Hoosier confirmed that a radial will be faster every time if you are chasing a number. If you're looking for consistentcy go with a slick. Me I just want the number so I can do a few hit and miss passes.

I guess what I will do first is see if the tires I have work ok. If they dont I will come back out to the track with the hoosiers. If I dont have to spend 450 right now that would be good. I really need to by wheels for my triathlon bike and they are 800

Well I am doing a Half Iron Man in New Orleans April 17th and the new wheels are quite a bit lighter. Anything that makes it easier to pedal at 22mph for 58miles and then still have the energy to get off the bike and run 13.1 miles. Man I am stupid
