Angleton raceway sold and closed Not that many of you went there, but saying that we lost another dragstrip. 
I got my only track championship there back in 06.

ANGLETON RACEWAY SOLD AND SHUT DOWN.
WELL FOLKS, I WAITED AS LONG AS I COULD TO POST THIS, BUT IT DOES'NT LOOK LIKE WE HAVE ANGLETON RACEWAY ANY LONGER. I TRIED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE OWNER, BUT MY CALL WAS NEVER RETURNED, AND I FINALLY GOT IN TOUCH WITH RICKY AND HE CONFIRMED WHAT I HEARD.
THE TRACK HAS APPARENTLY BEEN SOLD TO SOMEONE OUT OF STATE, AND WILL BE CONVERTED TO A HELICOPTER BASE OR HELIPORT. THERE WAS ALOT OF HOPE THAT THE TRACK WOULD BE REOPENED UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP WITH INPROVMENTS, BUT THATS NOT THE CASE. I HAD A LOT OF GOOD TIMES AND MEMORIES OUT THERE AND MADE A LOT OF FRIENDS. I WATCHED IT FROM THE TIME THEY BROKE GROUND AND WAS THERE OPENING DAY. I TRULY FEEL LIKE I HAVE LOST A FRIEND.

i went there a few years ago and my lowered mach didn't like the return road at all.
I'm sure it sucks for people that live out there. they really have a far drive to a track. or street race lol

We lost alamo dragway at home but then they built rivercity raceway in marion so not too bad.
