A friend of mine has my outlaw drag radial car right now and when he finishes that he will get my 69 Camaro. Really depends on how much you want to spend. You can go take a look at it if you want. He is over off Long Point and Blalock.

Like Prostreet said it's all how much you are looking to spend but be reasonable, some of those shops get pretty wild when it comes to pricing.

I was quoted 1200 by a popular shop in Humble to just repaint it the same pewter color. Thats about all I wanted to spend really... just get it back to looking almost new. I would assume that would be to sand off the clear coat and get into the paint a few layers and then wet sand it, repaint it and then clearcoat it. I am not a painter so I really do not know a thing about it. Is that the normal thing to do???? I do not think I need a 3500 dollar paint job just to keep it the same color.

Its is a friend of mine who has a shop that he does on the side, no name really. Has a nice paint booth and expecting a rotisseri soon. Just does it on the side for enjoyment, but does great work. I was up there today to check on it and it looks great. It will be painted on Weds or Thurs. It is in a warehouse section off of Long Point and Pech

That's about what I paid which I think is a great deal for a respectable paint job.
Pewter will hide a lot too so you should be good.
Hell- the materials would almost cost an individual with no connections that much.

Sand, seal, base, clear, wet sand, buff, wash and wax. $1,200 sounds good but make sure it's for basecoat/clearcoat. Single stage looks great on red, black, white etc but silver, pewter, light blue etc. isn't a color you can cheap out on.
