Default New York and Cali > JSC in Space Program?

Seriously, when most people think of space travel one of the first phrases that comes to mind is "Houston, we have a problem," and yet New York and friggin Cali are apparently contributed more to the space program? This is why I HATE politics...To me it is a slap in the face to every Houstonian...

Sidebar- I am in no way shape or form advocating that KSC and the Smithsonian should not have gotten theirs, those destinations actually make sense, any person with half a brain would automatically assume that the 3 shuttles would go to KSC, JSC, and the Smithsonian.

This is just another attempt by the Kenyan to wreck the (republican strong) Texas economy.

Ignore the severe border problem: check

Attack big oil: check

Turn your back on NASA Houston: check

JSC is only responsible for the design, development and operation of human space flight in this country.

Yeah, that doesn't really count for anything, but CALI...CALI has been a huge contributor to the space program

Cali voted heavily democrat (as usual) in the last election. This is Obama's gift to them.

in real life they have. over the years we have moved a lot of stuff from Cali to Houston, Huntsville Alabama and Florida.

But i agree Houston should have got one.

I see California being a choice before NY.

The shuttle was tested here, before anywhere else.

The Enterprise was tested here in the 70s.

The shuttles also landed here at the beginning of the program and later on whenever there was an issue in FL.

Houston did get screwed though.

IMO, it should have been Houston, FL and CA.

Saw that coming, told the wife last night that California, NY and Florida would get 1, but didn't see D.C. So Cali for the west coast would be a good choice, but to have 3 on the east coast and none in the central part is just bs. NY had no business getting 1 at all and then you have D.C. which isn't too far from NY get 1, cmon man what a sham. The powers to be in the space shuttle program should be ashamed of how they selected this. What a bunch of dipshits. Houston is the command center and hosed, great job team.

It was a decision made by a government entity, there is no use trying to use actual reason to justify what they did

I heard that NY was pissed that they got the Enterprise. It never flew and didn't have any engines in it. BooHoo. At least they got one when it was deserved here in Houston. I would imagine that we would have gladly accepted it.

This.

NY and DC getting one, but not Houston? That is a FAIL.

like others have said it was a pure democratic move. Obama needed the votes so hence he gave them to a democratic state. He know he cant get Texas back.

I have less of an issue with NY getting one that with Cali. The Intrepid museum is a great place, and that ship has a ton of history with the space program.

Back? ****, he never had us!!!! Never will!!

Regarding the shuttle, I agree with Florida for obvious reasons, Washington is good because the Smithsonian has some very historic planes, but Cali??? No way!! And New York? Where they gonna put it? On the deck of the Intrepid? Shuttles don't like snow!! Either way, Houston got boned big time!!!

Ultimately, I'm even more upset with the fact that they are even being retired at all. The United States used to be the leader in space. Now we need to hitch a ride with the Ruskies!!! Augh!!!! Pass the borscht, comrade...
