Default PCV Tube Broken

I am looking for the hose that runs from the drivers valve cover to the passenger valve cover rear connection and then on to the intake manifold. I was looking over mine and noticed it was cracked and it just snapped all the way.

Ebay sells them but can I trust it? Has anyone bought one from Ebay?

or if anyone one has one for sale let me know.

yeah good luck with this. i found one from a guy who was parting out there car luckily got it for 60$ in next to new condition, looks like it was never used. GM wants 120$ new i believe.

If you dont trust ebay and dont want to risk getting a predestroyed one. Go to GM

this would be a good time to upgrade your PCV system to the LS6 PCV. my LS1 PCV would have oil POOLED in the hose. the LS6 is a much better design.

I have the same problem. Do you have a part # for the LS6 hose?

I redid all my PCV hoses with new hose and fittings also. All available at the autoparts, all very cheap.

Or if the pipe broke in half in one place you can cut a 1" long or so piece of rubber hose and patch the plastic tube by sticking each end of it in the rubber hose, I have done this many times over the years when in a bind or if the person didn't want to spend any money and it works great.

or get a catch can... the same car i repaired that broken hose on i installed a saikoumichi dual catch can and it totally eliminated oil getting into my intake... last time i checked it before i sold the car it was bone dry... the ls6 pcv is a better system than the ls1 pcv but is quite a bit more work and might be more costly than installing a good catch can

What did you use for the "Y" connection? Sounds easy.

I replaced my system a while back, I could of sworn there was a nice write up somewhere on the forums/internet but I cant seem to find it. I put this valve on the system I made:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...catch-can.html

I got the t fitting from home depot I think.

i used a 3/8" plastic "y" connection and 3/8" fuel hose and redid the whole pcv pipe all the way up to the pcv valve then i installed my catch can after the pcv... we had those fittings at work at the time so i just grabbed one, i'm sure you could find a similar fitting from autozone, home depot, etc... i took the catch can off before i sold the car and will be installing it on my new car when i get around to it haha

i had the ls1 style pcv and with only a catch can the intake/tb blade were dry everytime i checked them... i did rarely drive the car though, about 3k miles the 3 years i had it, so maybe that's why i never noticed anything haha... nevertheless it did work

I also redid mine but I used brass fittings worked great. I believe it was 3/8 hose and slid them over the plastic tube coming out of the valve covers with hose clamps and the brass y I had tapered fittings that you slide the hose on and it wont come back off. I was in a hurry I couldn't find the exact plastic fittings at the time these worked fine.

Cant you eliminate pcv if you put a breather on both valve covers. You would need 2 drivers side covers and plug the holes. I'm asking don't mean to steal your thread lol. Is that a good or bad idea.

BAD idea, you NEVER wan't to eliminate PCV, you always want some sort of crank case evacuation, not trying to come off like a jerk, but it is really important.
