Don't take this is me trying to argue. I just remember a few days where there was a significant headwind and tailwind on others. Either way still the same timing equipment, etc...
only 2 tail winds ever in goliad slight one in 2004 and a couple years ago 15-20 straight down the track. it was never a trure head wind it was allways a crosswind. I've been to every mile since 2004. Now they have a more of a head wind since it is almost allways a South east wind.

Not sure why the "records" would need to be reset. It is a new track, but the timing equipment is still the same, etc...
i'm just telling you what was on their website. They sealed the old track and this track has ZERO records. So therefore none of UGR's matter. LMR's could run 230 and it will be the "fastest current tx mile"

Read their site if u don't believe me.

So my numbers at HRP are no longer counted towards my best time because HRP is no longer there. It is now called Royal Purple Raceway... I already miss my 8second pass...

Your is at the same track just a different name now, so if they open a new 1/4 mile down the road from rpr are you going to say you ran an 8 second pass there, nope you have to run the track to get another 8 second pass to get in the record books at the new track, good night.

Wow... That is all I have to say... I never ran 8s in my car... It was only 8s at HRP. Any other sanctioned NHRA track that uses the same time system doesn't count. According to your theory. So my car isn't a true 149mph car right now. It is only a 149mph at LMP. I get it now.

The Mile now has a headwind... Totally different ballgame. Probably worse than a 10,000ft above sea-level change. I forgot about that brah!

GOODNIGHTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

I don't think the old records should be tossed. I agree, they are different tracks, but that is not the previous, current or future participants fault. I don't think we need to factor in headwinds, DA's, etc. I've seen some pretty crazy headwinds at Goliad over the years.

If the event changed names, then new records should be allowed. However, the event name is still the same. So the records should stay. As long as it is the "Texas Mile", let the records stand.

"Track records" should be allowed to change, IMO. However, they shouldn't be "Texas Mile" records.

Same thing NHRA does or any track for that matter.

lol @ all the old records don't matter...

Those are still the records. Who gives a **** if it's at this mile or the other? I guarantee you the people with the records don't care if someone goes slower somewhere else...

I agree with the first part of that. However, there were major timing discrepancies at the Miami Mile at least one time. That's why I think the event records should stand, and the the track can have it's own records if they choose. There is no governing body over the 1 mile standing runs yet.

The tx mile in the records now has 2 different locations. So right now all the records stand at the old location, they are not "tossing them" just right now at the new location there are no records. This weekend will be full of fresh weekends. I didn't write the rules, just read em.

dont' believe me? read it here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XioceckTcds

so they will go down kings of goliad?

Doesn't kelly's camaro have a narrowed rear end and wheels with special back spacing so i would guess depending on what broke it might not run again this weekend.
