Default FYI - 2001 Formula Traded in (Webster, TX)

A friend of mine traded his Formula in for an 06 Jaguar S-Type R yesterday. His Formula had a cam, ported heads, Precision converter, lid, exhaust, etc. Maple Red Metallic with grey cloth interior. Non-smoker. It's at Texas Auto on Hwy 3 between Bay Area and El Dorado. I think he let it go for $3800 so he didn't have to deal with selling it privately.

Thought some of you might be interested. It was his daily driver up until yesterday and he was the original owner and did not rag on the car at all.

Damn. I would have taken it off his hands for $3,800. Cash.

Any chance he has any old picture? Mileage? 6 speed?

Hmm... That's right around the corner from me. I may have to swing by and take a look. Texas Auto has a lot of nice car anyway so I wouldn't mind looking around. I actually forgot that dealership changed from Allen samuels jeep/Chrysler to a Texas auto dealer. Nice upgrade for the area though!

What's the mileage? Any issues? Any pics?

Higher mileage. Maybe a little over 100k? I know it was rebuilt a year or so ago. I'll get details later. Auto car.

He traded it in on this.

As far as I know, the car was running good until the day he traded it in. I don’t know his exact reasons for not trying to sell it privately. Maybe it wasn’t worth his time posting for sale ads on the internet, fielding a bunch of questions over the phone and email, and arranging times/places to let people look at the car, drive it, kick the tires, etc. He’s a busy guy. He works full time which involves about 25% travel and he is pretty active outside of work. The car’s out of his hands now. If you’re interested, go up to the place I posted about in post #1 and check it out. I was just trying to provide a lead on a car to fellow LS1TECHers.

BTW, I think the Jag looks ******* badass.

Thanks for the info man. I'll prob go check it out for kicks. I don't like auto cars but I do have an extra t-56 in the garage. Only reason why I'm not crazy about the Jags is cause they are expensive to maintain and don't hold value worth a ****. That's why u can pick em up almost new for so cheap. They just don't impress me but everyone has their own opinion. It looks good though.

Yeah. That's why he bought it used. It's an 06 with 34k miles. It stickered for $63k new. He picked it up for $26k. It's mint. He got a warranty with it too for peace of mind.
It's pretty quick w/ 400hp on tap.

No it won't. I see 04-05 models with 60k miles going for $17k-$21k.

LS6 and LS2 CTS-V's sell for low $20's now and they MSRP'd for around $53k.

The initial depreciation is insane, but they smooth out over time.

Look and see how big of a hit an Mercedes E55 AMG takes after a few years. $80k new - $30k now with decent mileage.
