This is why they hiked the price up, some people wouldn't care because they spend more money on other things. It's the same thing as people complaining about gas hikes but that's actually something you need.

If you're happy paying more for vanity plates then you were a few years ago, more power to you. It's your money, you can do what you want with it. I simply stated my opinion, I wasn't getting pissed. I dropped out of the whole vanity plate fad a while back. They can charge $1 a year for them and I still wouldn't care.

I could definitely afford it every year, but im paying 150ish a year for both registrations and vanity plates. To pay $200 and then have to pay both registrations is flabbergasting! Just accepting it means that these idiots will think its ok to charge $300. Then $400. I hope they have problems selling them.

So glad im leaving the camaro registered in OK when i move to DFW lol. Our custom tags are a whopping $65 over the regular tag and then $15 extra per year for the sticker. And no inspection ftw. Only two things I like about OK.

Goods are only worth what people are willing to pay. Its the same with everything, someone who enjoys driving their car will pay more for a gallon of gas than someone who sees it simply as a form of transportation. I agree it sucks that the price is higher but the plates are also different than the old txdot supplied tags and its not than unreasonable when bought in bulk. The single year rate is ludicris but if Im going to have a custom plate its going to be one I really like and Ill want it for 10 years anyway.
