Default Question about '01 camaro SS headlights

I have a question about my '01 SS camaro and the headlights. If i go to start the car during the day and my headlight switch is turned to off my headlights dont come on (normal). But if i turn my car on at night when the switch is off, my headlights come on automaticly. The only thing I can think of is there is some kind of photocell or sensor installed on the car. I have noticed some kind of antenna in the top left of my front windshield but havent traced the wire. It looks like to go down the pilar towards the dash or headlight switch. Any ideas is to what this could be, anyone else have this on their car? Just curious.

Did you just get this car?

They're daytime running lights. There's a couple of ways to deactivate them, if you use the search function you'll find them.

Before you ask...

Disabling DRL

I disconnected the light sensor and pushed half of a paper clip into the connector itself.

Daytime Running Lights doesn't mean your headlights have to be on. If you notice, your front signal lights are always on if you haven't disabled it. Hence, they're daytime running lights.

the daytime running light function may be implemented by functionally-specific lamps, by operating the low-beam headlamps or fog lamps at full or reduced intensity, by operating the high-beam headlamps at reduced intensity, or by steady-burning operation of the front turn signals
The only reason someone with a 4th generation F-Body wouldn't have them is if they disabled them.

It's not like I've never owned a 4th generation F-Body or anything.

Well U may have to buy the Regular Camaro headlights since only the SS and Super SS headlights do this, they are special headlights filled with Plutonium gases which make them super
