Default Any work in Houston

I was curious if anyone knows of any entry-level IT jobs in Houston. I am 6 credit hours from my associates degree. At this point I am interested in any employment but IT would be preferred.

I also have 5 years truck driving experience and have a valid class a cdl with the following endorsements: hazmat, tanker, doubles and triples.

I know word of mouth is usually the best way an I have put many applications in to no avail. Please let me know if you know of anything. Thanks in advance.

I have talked to them and they require more experience from the start is what they told me. Seems like a good place to work as well.

experience is relative, when listing your experience you have to be creative, especially when your just starting out. If you set something up at home or helped friends or family members setup their network or fix computer problems , then that can be listed as experience. You just have to word it in such a way that it sounds like you know what you are doing. Anything you did at your school or in a classroom you should also list as experience. You can list your teachers and some classmates as references.

Hostgator is just a webhosting company that runs a bunch of Apache web servers. Put Apache on a Linux box at home and setup up some websites and play around with it. Then when you talk to employers you can impress them with your knowledge.

Haha.... HostGator. I think it's funny that none of the servers of their hosting infrastructure even belong to them. It's all run out of The Planet which today is SoftLayer. It's basically just a big call center with automation scripts.
