Default My 2011 M6 SS vs my friends 2011 M6 5.0

Went to Baytown friday to run.

My car with 2700 miles went a 13.25 DA 2300ft

Mods are CAI,cat back, rear cradle bushings.
25 psi on stock tires
weight 3865

2011 5.0 M6 3.73 gears(stock) with 6500 miles went a 13.19 DA1600ft

Mods are 20" wheels with 25psi (street tires)
weight 3600 and some change

We never did get side by side. Next time! We are both decent drivers. Neither one of us slipped the cluthch hard both of were leaving at about 2k and slipping the clutch. Why is it every one thinks the 5.0 is so much faster. The 5.0's I see there have run are 13.20's and up stock. I had a nother friend say his auto 5.0 went a 13.0 stock but I did not see it or a time slip. Let it begin

12 what. There are more then a few 2011 M6 cars bone stock that are in the 12's to. I can show you the fast list with time slips.

Here you go. the first spread sheet is for bone stock cars. Click on details of each time and it will show a time slip for their pass.

http://www.modularfords.com/forums/f...1-list-159185/

I went through about 6 pages and looks like the fastest bone stock car went a 12.47 there were a few 12.80 and 12.90's. most of the cars are moded tune exhaust etc and run mid to low 12's again nothing that shows they are so much faster. Look at what a camaro with exhaust, tune, CAI, tires runs. If I remember right there is one that ran an 11.70

I pulled out of school the other day behind a new SS 6spd blacked out with at minimum an exhaust and intake and there was a new 5.0 bone stock with 4 people in the car. The mustang started toying with the SS and it was door to door the whole way, the 5.0 looked like it was pulling on it a little.

Anyways I was laughing my *** off watching that SS get pulled by a stock 5.0 that was most likely an auto and full of people. He seems hot headed as he wouldn't race me, I guess I wasn't worth his time.

put your mods on the 5.0 with a tune,n,tires and you will see why everyone thinks its so much faster, i have seen bolt on cars run killer times at the track, on the street i have ran a few bolt on 5.0s and camaros, the 5.0 is a strong running car,, dont worry though the camaro will step up in the next few years

LOOK at the camaro fast list for bone stock then look at the bone stock 5.0. I'm not saying they are slow just not so much faster then a camaro like people think. Look at the fast list on both cars moded or stock and compare numbers.

CAI 8-10 rwhp and cat back 0-5 rwhp as far as bolt ons look at the fast list. headers tune Cai drag radials and you have an 11.70-11.80 camaro. Tune and headers is the big gain on the camaro.

What were your 60' times and trap speeds? Your 13.25 with bolt-ons is a little weak, to be honest. 12.90s should have been easy with any sort of mods, given a good launch.

13.25 @ 107 with 2.147 60ft. I did not launch it hard at all and sliped the clutch at 2k. I came in off the street went to tech and straight to the lanes and made a pass. The DA was 2300ft and temp was mid to high 80's. This was only my 4th pass down the track with this car.

Don't forget both are new drivers apparently and the 2400 DA isn't quite the best for record numbers.

Not a new driver new car and only 4th pass in it. Trying to just have fun with it and not break it. Need to play with some thing while we build a 4th gen.

My bad, that's what I meant - new cars to both drivers with minimal seat time. Always takes time to get used to a new car - skill level just dictates how long.

No worries! I met another member who is friends with Tony at a dyno meet this weekend. He went on to tell me him and Tony put in alot of seat time to try and beat the fastest bone stock camaro time. Tony landed a 13.0 so I'm not far off with numbers and seat time.
