2002 WS6 Detail
Cleaned this one up for a local board member and I'm sure he would like to see the pictures.
Was done on last notice as I had a spot open up. Turned out very nice and how it should look for such 'low' milage.
Early morning start on this Red WS6. Washed with Meguiars Super Soap and 1.5 oz of APC+ to ensure we had a nice squeaky clean surface to start with.
The hood showed a great deal of swirling:
The passenger side B-pillar triangle pieces showed severe oxidation and were in need of a good polishing to restore their clarity:
How they should look. Another step was taken to refine this to a high gloss but being pressed for time and wanting to focus mainly on the correction and not photography, I didn't get to take more as I usually do:
The owner expressed concern about a bird bomb (bird poop) that had etched the rear spoiler:
Another shot of the hood before any correction work:
Another panel swirled up:
The B-pillar showed it needed some TLC as well but the good news was it didn't have the infamous F-Body bubble:
This is the norm for these triangle pieces on most F-Body's:
And the B-Pillar triangle pieces polished up with Meguiars M205 and a foam black LC CCS pad:
Bird bomb etching on the hood. I found this one with out the owner pointing it out:
Another shot:
Front bumper was dull and had severe hard water spotting on it:
Rear tails had seen better days:
A closer shot of the mess:
Much better and the gloss really stands out:
Here is the bird bomb etching removed on the hood:
The door finished down and polished:
The rear spoiler bird bomb etching removed on the hood. This is why it's crucial to remove them as soon as they are noticed. Only some deep pitting remained that would require some wetsanding but wasn't in the cards for this detail:
Another shot further away of the spoiler. From far away, the pitting can't be seen:
Another shot of the hood:
The hard water spots on the front bumper were leveled down and the gloss was restored:
Thanks for checking it out! Didn't have much time to take any shots of the whole car except for these shots.
Questions/Comments welcome!
