Well as f@cked up as the world and people are getting the wife and I decided she should also get a chl. Just wondering what model your significant other carries with her and how she likes it. Thinking of going to the gun show this weekend to take a look. I dont think she would want to go shoot my .40s cause the recoil would be a little much. Pretty much figured a 9mm or a .38 or something. I haven't really shot too many 9s or .38s so just looking for something that other women feel comfortable with.

LCP. I'd suggest a P238 also.
My wife also has a P239 in .40 and does fine with my XD40sc so don't count that caliber out. She is petite too.
My mom-in-law has a LCR in .38 spc. Its light, but it is NOT fun to shoot. My wife shot it twice and won't touch it. The recoil is bad.
Whatever you do, if you really want her to carry it DO NOT pick the gun out for her. Take her to the show or a shop and let her fondle as many as she wants and make sure she can work the action. Most shops will work with her on concealment options too. Then go to a range that rents the one's she liked and let her shoot them and try different calibers. See what she is comfortable with and has better accuracy. Let her choose from there.
Then it is time to choose a carry method.

I made sure to let my wife chose her pistols so she would want to shoot them. Next thing I knew she was looking at AR's and ended up with a RRA Operator. Now she is looking at 1911's.

My Girlfriend carries two guns just depneding on whether she has her purse on her or not. If she is carring her purse she keeps her Sig P250 on her, if she is not going to have her purse with her she has a little Smith & Wesson bodyguard 38 which is a hammerless revolver. 95% of the time she just keeps the 38 on her since it is compact and easy to conceal.

Yeah, I figured I should let her pick it out. We watched some show not too long ago about handguns (probably tales of the gun) and I remember her wanting a PPK. Anyone got any experience with one? Not too sure where to go test fire some first though. Does anybody know if bass pro lets you test them out? I know they have a range here.

The PPK is fine. Many have copied the design, but for .380 I'd go LCP, P238, or Bodyguard. Same caliber in a smaller, lighter, more concealable package. The P238 is the best shooter of the group. Very little felt recoil, but they do like to be kept clean.
Now if she likes the size of a PPK, I'd go with one of the thin 9mm models that are like the LC9, Pf9, or 709.
There is a huge market for conceal guns now days.
Does she think she'll carry inside the waist band, pocket, or purse?

purse i guess. Haven't really discussed it yet. I was thinking of a LCP but god dang it's got a 4 inch long trigger pull at 10 lbs. i just don't think she would like that at all. Kinda think the double/single action might be the way to go. But i guess thats for her to decide.

A kimber would be for me lol... i have a a ruger sr9compact its the gun she loves but i also just pickerd up a KAHR cm9 wich is the same as a pm9 but cheaper price. I love it for concealability n so does she. Much smaller than any other subcompact 9mm out there. Realy accurate n the design of the barrel sitting lower n closer to your hands makes the recoil the best compared to any other subcompacts. If u want smaller go with a KAHR p380 or a ruger LCP.

You're right. Its all theoretical until she gets them in her hand though.
