Default Plastic scrap?

Anyone know a place that takes plastic scrap and a rough estimate of how much a pound? Figure I'll just fill up a gooseneck and cash it instead of throwing it away.

I was surprised to find quite a few places by searching "places to have plastic recycled in houston" and "plastic scrap houston" in google.

http://www.greenrecyclingcenter.com/ is one

Thanks, it's hard to go through those sites on an iPhone so I was curious if anyone had a personal favorite.

Mutiple revenue streams is the way to go (advice I should heed myself). Not having all of your eggs in one basket and all of that.

BTW, he's young money and not big money. Just trying to keep the facts straight.

Nope but that's a good idea! I'm working in a machine shop making plastic push tools for oil rigs, we can fill up a dumpster in a day of solid plastic waste from the lathe. If we could make a few extra bucks and have the dumpster freed up for real trash it would be great. It's an awesome job though!

Scrap metal is great though, thinking about running a 40ft gooseneck through the country with a few friends and filling the whole thing up one day during spring break or summer for fun and seeing how it goes.

And I need a new name, I'm not really young anymore lol.

Unless your filling that gooseneck with copper, stainless or even brass, you're not going to make much. Steel is only $10 per 100lbs so a ton is $200. Even then you still have to load it and waste gas hauling it. I sell copper scrap all the time. I will only haul steel once I have at least 5000 lbs or its damn near not worth messing with

Ive only done it once, filled up a truck bed in about 15 mins and made $100 split two ways, not bad.

Idk it adds up quick. The plastic is consistent though, need to find a way to get rid of all the waste, takes up a ton of space very quick.

I'm a plumber so I come across a lot of scrap, I keep copper, brass and lead and usually wait about every 6 months depending on the price to turn it in. Use it to pay for a vacation or something nice for the house. I don't even bother with steel or anything else, not even worth it.

I think that ban hammer is a bit extreme for doing that.
