edub80, when you think you'll be able to go to the track again?
x2 Would be nice to know what was causing the problem!

lol

Take it to the dyno and have them check it out again before you go to the track again.. Then they can data log your run and compare.

From anotha brotha with a heavy *** car with a heavy *** driver, at 3800 lbs with any vig stall wont MPH. Will more stall help ET? Yes, but will your MPH go up? Probably not, IMO. At least a 4000 vig wont MPH more, considering i have at least 8.5% slip @ 6000 RPM lol. However a nice circle D piece like you have should benefit. My friends GTO went from another brand 3000 to a circle D 2C which stalled around 4000-4500 and the car picked up everywhere.

Well after talking to my original tuner and some other ppl and also a lot of searching on the forums..... I had a small amount of exhaust rattle and i fixed that... but other than that nothing.... there is something going on though.... don't know what it is but will soon get it looked at when I take it back to my original tuner... but I will update the forum when we get it lined out in a few weeks..

It really seems like it is a converter/transmission issue.

Keep us updated...

No I have not bashed gforce one time in this thread... I posted this thread to get some info on things to see what would be some things to look at.... and yes I contacted mike before this thread was even posted to get his opinion and he told me that the heat is why it ran poorly... that was his opinion about it... so I posted on here to get other peoples opinions and I got a lot of good replies and also alot of not so great replies lol...

Your underlying tone has been negative towards G'Force. It's obvious you blame them since you are changing tuners and hoping that fixes the problem.

As stated, it sounds like a trans issue. Good luck. Keep us posted

well im not going to sit here and lie and say that im happy with the way this car is performing..... if ppl would just sit back and really look at the whole picture then they would obviously know that something is up... could be the trans/converter/tune/motor.... there are so many factors involved in the equation....

the trans obviously wasnt slipping because it would have showed on the dyno

converter yes its not big enough for the max effort et but it is the same converter that has been in there prior to the tune

motor obviously pulled really good on the dyno or its just a really happy dyno

so we know the problem for why it is not performing to the best and its obviously the converter is small and it could be the tune too

now when i go to a bigger converter and OBVIOUSLY its gona pick up some et

my question is to you is with the amount of power im putting to the ground then what trap speed should i expect in the 1/4.... mph shows your true HP

Not if your car isn't putting the power down while it is under load. Spinning the dyno isn't much resistance. I'm still thinking there is a bigger transmission/converter issue that is happening besides the converter being too small.

Before, you take your tranny out and get a more loose stall converter, log your car. In most cases a tighter stall will result in higher mph and going to a more loose stall may result in a lower mph. I sound like a broken record here, but log your car. Obviously, during the dyno run, everything seemed good, going by the numbers your car put down. Now, log your car to see whats going on from 1st to 3rd.

^ I was just going to say this. @ 3650 in around 1500 DA i did 118.8 with a slipping trans. next time in worse DA @ 3700 i did 116.9 with a similar tranny issue, but regardless i dont know how much more MPH your car has with an automatic tranny and 3800 race weight. everyone says my car is a 120 mph car because its so torquey but @ 414 RWHP unlocked i think 117 is all shes got! now just change the converter and pull some tire, screw MPH.

That's funny because the HP calculator I used showed that the estimated HP was 428 at the flywheel... lol
