So the 140 HP more the ZL1 makes isnt enough?

I haven't had the pleasure of viewing a dyno graph from a stock zl1 or a tune file. I do know that throttle opening percentage is hindered badly below 5000rpm. Is the zl1 actually making 140hp more that the ss below 5000 rpm?

IDK but when you are racing you shouldnt be below 5000 rpm for very long.

How long is very long? If the rev limiter is 6200 and the next gear drops you below the rpm where the blade closes 50% I would think it has a great impact on a race. For that matter, why is the limiter at 6200 anyways? Clearly they make power after that.

500 pound difference and the Stang guys are claiming 440 who with those mods. Saw a ZL1 dyno about 490 whp stock like the car in the video is. 50hp difference estimated. 500 pound difference estimated. It was a close race. I wouldn't go 140hp all nuts like you claim.

Yeah just bustin ***** it's just funny watching the ZL1 Fanboys having to make excuses as to why Ford hasn't whipped all over that thing. Thats what makes the Chevy vs Ford rivalry so good sometimes Chevy wins sometimes Ford wins and 2012 definitely goes to Ford. Now Chevy do something about it.

They don't need to with a ZR1 honestly, if the camaro isn't enough, get the Vette. That's how I look at it, they sure as hell won't do the smart thing in my book and put that fatty on a diet.

IN the corners I would hope. Straight line, on the big end to 200, I imagine the deg factor might even push it through. In the 1/4, probably not, not even geared for that. I am assuming the Vette has less weight to push as well.

yep. one could look at it that way......i paid less than 10k for my 83 5 liter brand new. i paid a little over 30k for this 5 liter brand new. but........this one is a **** ton more car than that 83 was. it is well worth the extra money.

by the way....if you look at the 1/4 mile specs of the original zl1.....you may note that the new one is slower then the original, where the new shelby slaps the old shelby.
