Removing heads in car with studs?

Default Removing heads in car with studs?

I was wondering If anyone here can tell me if I can take the heads off while the motor is in the car still if I have arp headstuds. The car is a 99 Trans am, I blew a head gasket and hoping I don't have to drop the motor. Thnx.

As stated above, yes you can. I can not remember but you may have to pull the studs out of the block before you pull the heads off.

u dont have to pull the studs out the heads will come straight up and off

Damn thata cool thats what was steering me away from studs in the first place is it just as basic as removing the heads with regular bolts?
