since the meet scene in dallas died, i went from driving my 4th gen every week to once a month at most. i kinda need a destination to drive it to.
i mostly lurk the TX section since i haven't been doing any mods to the car. I don't post in the TX section too often, as most of the people i know have been MIA from the car scene.
and i agree with what others have said... when these cars were new, this site was all about latest and greatest mods, and people experimenting and figuring stuff out. as the cars are aging, you'll eventually see it transition to restoration, to be something like thirdgen.org

I've posted earlier in this thread, but I thought I should share how progress is going on my F-body since I don't share too often...
Recently I have been using Hptuners/LC1 to dial in the tune on my 5.3L/4L80E setup. I have searched for tons of LS1 tuning instruction booklets, threads, and PDF's to educate myself on DIY LS1 tuning. I've had a high idle issue with the 5.3L L33 truck engine+LS1 intake, car wouldn't enter closed loop at idle, along with some other parameters needing looked at and changed. Managed to figure it all out, and now I'm just having fun...
This car has been for sale on and off while I drive/perfect it, but I just came to the conclusion it would better to hold on to and wrench on occasionally, instead of selling/giving it away. I must face it, F-body's aren't worth what they should be.

I still lurk from time to time, got out of touch with the car scene a few years back. I currently have a 1988 Iroc-Z LS1/T-56 Swap thats about 85% done, once I get setttled into my house (Moving to Pearland) its back on.

Because 10 years ago when I had my Trans Am, I was angry, bitter, had a hair trigger temper, and wasn't very nice to more than a few people. I've since grown up, got a handle on that temper and have learned to treat others the way I would want to be treated. Several of the friends I made turned enemies (or at the very least indifferent) when I turned on a few of their friends in a hostile way. Those are the days where I would react without thinking things through and generally try to force my will upon others.
In short, I grew up, but the forum appears to get younger and younger every day. Now I spend most of my time on Corvette Forum in the C6Z and Southwest sections.
I still owe more than a few people apologies for my irrational behavior. Sadly I may never have the opportunity to express it to them. So I just lurk in the shadows occasionally, reflecting on what might have been had I not been such an ******* back then. We can't change the past, but we can certainly learn from it and grow from the experiences.

There are def some good "stories" in here. I lurk mainly. If you want real info, I think it's best to browse specific sections... I frequent the Forced Induction section... Daily lol When I get back from my deployment, I still have to find a house in northern SA and then pick back up with my car. She's getting a 370, front mount turbo kit, M6 to TH400 swap and a 12 bolt. Plus, while she's apart, I'm gonna re-do everything to make her look brand new.

I think you were also in the process of getting a custom made true dual system on the car.
