HELP!!!!! I bought a car from someone who isnt on the title!!
Recently I bought a 1995 Honda Civic from a private party, he had the blue title in hand. I realized he wasnt the original owner whose stated on the front of the title hes the second owner but he never signed His name on the date he got the car which was back in 2011. So Im asking, how do I get the title in my name. I seen this other forum with a similar problem to mine that said all I need is the title with my name and signature on it with the title application signed from the previous owner and they have to match. But the previous owner is way in Pasadena, TX. Do I just forge his name on the app and say the car hasnt worked sense then or what, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!

I'd burn it to the ground before the police find out about this. You'll easily do 1 to 3 years in prison if you get caught with an illegal title and car. God have mercy on your soul.

Its not an illegal title, the second owner never signed the title and I did. I just realized his name doesnt match the original owners name on the front of the title. They both have the same first name but the last names are different.

I seen in one forum before if you just have the title and the title application then say the car wasnt working at the time then you wont get penalized for the lateness.

Also, you could get a bill of sale FROM THE GUY YOU BOUGHT IT FROM, and say that guy sold it to you, and he bought it not working, so never titled it....and now you bought it....there are many options available since you actually have the title. Now if you DIDN'T have the title, that's where things get shitty fast.

Get with a title company to cover your ***. If you do a bonded title I do not think you will get hit with those fees either if you state you just got the car.
If you just sign you name a forge their's your going to get nailed HARD for late fees...

The paper you need to get signed by the owner is called a statement of fact and it needs to say the date on the back was made in error no fraud intended. That with the title signed by both seller and buyer along with a 130u form signed by both parties ten will let you tranfer the title
