Default Hi all - Newbie from Hutto, TX

Hi all,

I am beginning a project with my son. I recently acquired a 1981 RX7 and the apex seals were bad on the motor, so my son and I removed the running gear. In its place we have a 2008 5.3 all aluminum motor with 243 heads (which I was told are good heads - Really don't if it is true). I bought the engine mounting kit from Grannys Speed Shop along with a mount for a 4l60e trans. I recently purchased an F-Body accessory drive. I am about ready to mount the engine just a few more pieces to get it installed. I may have a few questions along the way since I am more familiar with old school muscle cars. Attached is a picture of my son and I learning that truck pulleys and oil pan do not have enough clearance. I have also attached a picture of my Buick.

Thought this would be a good group to learn from but I have not heard from anyone so I am having second thoughts.

I will give that a shot, I thought the Texas forum would be a good starting point. I will head over to the hybrid section. Thanks

Most every question you could have is already answered in the hybrid area or elsewhere. There are lots of great build threads with pics you should go thru.
I learned that if you ask a question that's been addressed several times previously, you just get ignored...
Good luck with the build!

Nice buick there. Send me some more photos of that one. That swap should go fairly easy. Let me know if you got any questions.

KIKI's car is a convertible. I brought this car from California when I was in the service in the late 90's.

I have know KIKI for a while but I have not talked to him in about a year.

Default Update on my RX7 project

We tried to install the all aluminum 5.3 and 4l60e in my 81 rx7. It did not go as planned, had an issue with my mounts. motor is now setting in the chassis but I am sure it will be out a few more times.
