Default My Twin turbo CTS-V 1000+rwhp daily driver

Well I haven't made a thread here on this car yet. But this is/was the record holder for fastest and quickest factory short block CTS-V. The old combo went very consistent 9.7's with a mild Heads/Cam/bolt ons/nitrous combo.

We got tired of that and decided to jump into the turbo game. Went with a forged bottom end. Factory crank, factory block, forged pistons/rods. WCCH LSA heads, factory LS3 intake, factory LSA TB, etc...Really using as many stock GM parts as possible on the car as of now

Here is some progress pictures of the build at Calvo Motorsports in Austin Tx. Antonio is the owner and took the project of building my TT kit on. The kit is Precision billet 6262's, custom FMIC, twin Tial 38mm Wastegates, single Tial BOV.

Factory LS3 intake. We are going to use aftermarket fuel rails, bigger injectors, and a stock LS3 TB.

Intercooler mock up, he built my FMIC out of 1" tubing so he wouldn't damage the fins on the actual FMIC. Now all he needs to do is cut the tacs and weld the end tanks on to the actual core.

4" outlet that is going to run all the way to the TB

FMIC core, rated at 1300hp

mocked up behind the bumper/grill. Its a tight fit but it works!

After the fab work was done by Antonio I picked the car up and brought it up to Arlington Tx for Sam at AMP(Advanced Modern Performance) to finish everything up. We ended up with some larger injectors, dual nozzle meth injection, LPE 2step control, and some other small things.

Here is how the car sits today. Making over 1000hp, getting daily driven, beat on, and having fun with it! You would be shocked at how well this car drives. 4 digit hp, factory driving manners, AC seats, full weight, all that good ****.

On low boost 14psi we ended up going 10.0@145. More mph then the blower/nitrous combo ever produced and we arent even leaning on it yet. Going to have to figure out how to get the car to leave, but we will address that soon. The goal was to get it running and get some seat time! I have full intentions of this thing going low 9's@150+ once we get it ironed out.

Here is a video of it on the dyno. I'm 100% amazed at how quiet and docile this thing is. Much nicer to drive then the old combo by far, if the FMIC were black, nobody would suspect anything from it.

We have plans for changing some parts in the top end to maximize this combo a bit, will have updates on it soon.

I've never been big on taking cameras and doing all that. But we are making some changes now and should have some good track vids in Feb hopefully.

That cts-v has so many stock parts left it should be a crime. I was curios if you weighed it with the new setup. I would think it had a lot less weight on the nose without the blower and all the supporting junk.

FMIC isnt light weight by any means, its similar to factory weight. We actually added a few pounds

Love the concept behind this. 1000hp DD, lol. I would paint that FMIC black. It's a beautifully fabbed piece and looks pretty intimidating behind the grille(s), but it's a little awkward in shape. This car is so sick, and you are a madman!

I actually weighed the car when it was complete with the blower/nitrous and now that it is complete with the turbo system. It is 35 lbs heavier now.
Before I started installing the turbo kit I weighed the car and then weighed it again on Thursday of last week. The entire kit including the methanol system filled and oil drain lines/pump was quite heavy at 168lbs.
