SO much for the oilfield!!!
For those of us that grew up with a fairly interactive lifestyle with our parents, I would say 90% of the people in that group emulate our parents in regards to what we know about money, how we use it, how we make it, how we invest it.
Outside of your home, as far as learning anything about money, you're on your own (which I think is one of the major flaws in this countries education system). Hell, I have Finance degree from a major university........and can tell you, not once, from the time I entered 1st grade to the day I graduated college, did I ever get a lesson in a class room about ways to properly handle your personal finances. In my opinion, it should be part of a required curriculum.
Where am I going with this..................we are talking about cyclical business cycles and how some people save money, invest properly and others live beyond their means. So I will add the one and only lesson I learned from my dad regarding my personal financial situation. This was his exact quote and I live by it to this day "Son, if anyone ever asks you how much money you have (whether it's in your wallet or your bank account, always tell them half of what you really have".
That lesson really does nothing for helping one to improve their financial situation. I think it was more of a "character" lesson than anything. That said, my lessons in life regarding money have come from the school of hard knocks because I wasn't fortunate enough to have a family teach me beyond what I posted above.
I'm certainly going to change that cycle with my kids. I look back on my life and think, **** I've spent a ton of money doing cool, fun, man ****.......but had I made even small sacrifices, I wouldn't have missed out on anything that I would regret and I'd be in a much better position to do BIG cool, fun, man ****.
Class dismissed.

And that's not even all of it....
Oh, and I have 5 cars, 4 of them are PAID FOR. The are not going anywhere....The only reason my truck is not paid for is I got an outrageously low interest rate on it.
As you can see I already had to make a small withdrawal for Christmas, but it wasn't much when you consider the big picture...
Wow if only...if only........

I'm sure your father is sorry for removing that helmet so soon. SMH. It's tragic.

Seriously, I'm trying to figure out where or what I posted that has you trolling me. It started with me calling someone an idiot for posting a screen shot of their investment portfolio. I made a comment on how gay it is to waive paycheck stubs and bank statements around in peoples faces, because some *** did that a few posts ago. Then you say I am that idiot. Where the hell are you seeing that I did the same?
Looking back somehow I got you confused as the guy who posted that. Then I went on to think you posted the one all about learning about money. So I thought it looked even more ridiculous.
So yeah. I apologize and am sorry for the trouble! Seems Htownws6 is the one I meant to be aiming those comments at!

It's nice to know you two guys are all good. Now, have the girls in your avatars kiss and make up...then, post the video.
