Ls7 2001 ss
Why not leave it as 427 and invest into a good rotating assembly that's 24X then start looking at some aftermarket cylinder heads. They should've put a 427 in every SS Camaro ever built, it's the perfect power plant for an NA street car.
I'm a subcontractor in Houston and I'm sure we will be getting laid off this week.
I've been following this build for a while and can't wait to see it finished. I seen on social media a lot of shops are running slim schedules. Which one are you taking your engine to?

Well I hope not for your sake. A lot of people seeing the affects of this and if it continues on for the next several weeks it will impact us even more. Hopefully the state and local governments can get to the business at hand so everybody can get back to work!

- A guy I just worked with is a friend with the engine builder at MTI. I haven’t gone to any of the shops in Houston in a very long time. I usually do all of the work on my projects, except for paint an machine work, by myself. I am always leery of getting ripped off. This engine has been in my garage for about 6 years so it needs to be refreshed and I need the reluctor wheel changed. I would really like to just get that done and add new lifters and some TSP roller tip rockers. I still have to buy my exhaust system. I should have everything else here. What type of contract work do you do?
When I saw what it was going cost to have my engine professionally built engine but I wanted to build the engine myself. My first engine was an LSX 427 and although it didn't spin any bearings it did have a ring issue and I ended up having to pull it and tear it down to rebuild it. I've learned quite a bit along the way and have purchased many tools so I can learn how to use them and work on things myself. I was taught a tough lesson by trusting somebody that I was referred too by a dear family friend only to learn that this self proclaimed engine builder ended up stealing my Manley LS7 titanium intake valves out of my TSP heads. Started running into valve train issues a short time later after re-assembly and re-installation. I wanted to hurt that SOB after learning what he had done to me so never again will I trust my stuff to just anyone.

I have TSP dual exhaust on my Trans Am and it's a LS3 with heads and cam. I don't think it's too loud. What did you hear it on and what engine?
I like the Borla tips and exhaust, so I might go to that with electric cut outs. Have you thought about cut outs?
Today we finished up the front brakes, coil overs, and upper control arms. We took the rear end and torque arm out. Installed the driveshaft loop and Strange driveshaft. Had to stop for the day.
