oil change question

what kind of motor oil does everyone use in the winter time in Texas in their LS1's?
I've got a 98 Z with a fully forged bottom end out in East TX and have used 10W-40 either full synthetic or Castrol partial blend synthetic conssitently
Should I go down to 5W-40 for the winter time in East Texas?
Any help would be appreciated

Mobil 1 10w30 year round..............Doesn't get cold enough for anything else.......

I use 5-30 Roal Purple. You really don't have to run anything differnt than normal. I use the 5w because it is thinner on startup and moves faster throughout the motor on the 1st start ups.

Yeah I was using Royal Purple 5-30 but it was using too much of it. So I switched it over to Royal Purple 10-30 uses half a quart every 1500 miles. Im just going to stick with 10-30 all year around.
