97s a vented Opti, stick with that instead of a dynaspark. Maldo at Elite is supose to have an Opti delete kit in the works. LT4 conversion is great but expensive, you can make great power with LT1 heads/cam packages, on the bottle should be real stout.

You can run a GM LT4 or step up to a AFR head, Chuck or Rick at HPE can set you up with a set of AFRs. It comes down to budget and power, how much are you looking to spend and how much do you want to make. Like I said a good LT1 h/c car in a six speed is capable of 400rwhp tuned right with the suporting mods, that also entails a fairly large cam. A ported LT1 is going to perform better than a out of the box GM LT4 will. If you really want to nut up and make big power, look in to converting a set of 23* SBC race heads like a Dart or All Pro, thats very expensiveand usally more than what most folks are willing to spend. The AFRs wont really hit their potential untill they are also ported, a few folks in Houston have experience with them. Rick at HPE being one of them, out of the box they arent to impresive but start working on them and they can really level the playing field for us LT1 guys. I saw some flow numbers from Phil at Ai on the new Trick Flows after he ported them, they seem real similar to a small AFR 195

I have been looking at heads and a cam and I don't know much about them. I'm obviously not going to buy things I'm not well educated about. But my budget for heads and a cam will probably be close to 3900 bucks. I'm looking for about 375-415 RWHP, but first I have to complete the mods I inted to finish. I will also have a shop be installing the heads, and cam because I do not know how. Can't you already buy ported heads? I was lookin at AFR, size port should I get.

You can pull those numbers out of a six speed LT1 h/c car easily, with a good set of ported heads and a very well matched cam. Lot of people have h/c packages that can make that kinda power.
