Default T-top tint?

i was wondering if anyone has their T tops tinted with limo tint. i have thought about doing this for a while but i am nervous about the heat making them shatter. i just dont like my t top covers anymore. i'd like to limit the amount of sun some more than stock but still be able to see out. plus with the limo it would make it hard for people to see in without trying really hard.

They come with pretty dark tint from the factory so it should be okay https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/151695-tints.html

How would they break? Anywho, I had mine tinted with a 20% window film about two years ago with no problems. It does make driving without the shades on in sunny weather a bit more tolerable, but not enough to throw out your shades. With the Texas heat that we get in the summer you are definetely still going to need them.

when I had my windows tinted I had them put 35% on the Ts to increase the factory tinted glass. Its pretty dark but I can still see outside during the night as long as theres no glare from inside.

I went to this place called audio vision, because it was a sunday and most other places were closed and I just had to get it done that day...
there was allready a little tint on the sides and back, I had them remove the side/back tint, put 5% on back, 20% I think on the sides and 35% on the T tops. got it done that day and cost me about 160-180 if I remember correctly. It has a lifetime warrenty on bubbles and peeling

i already have 10% on the back and whatever the legal limit is on the sides with a 10% eyebrow. i'll just need some 10% on the t tops. i'll just have to call around and see what i can come up with

Just a little FYI about lifetime warranties... it doesn't do much good to have if the shop goes out of business. I had my rear windshield re-tinted a few years ago, at a place that was nearby and had a good price... apparently it closed down some time last year. Wish I'd gone somewhere more 'established-looking' even if it wasn't as close or cheap. There's a few tiny bubbles, but I'm out of luck if it ever gets worse.

ChaoSS,
the t tops have a tinted glass I believe, so if you want to add tint, its going to be darker then it would normally; thats why I got 35%, when it combines with the allready tinted glass it makes it darker than 35%, Im not sure how to figure out the stock glass tint % or how to "add" them up, but just think about it when you decide
IMO I wanted to keep some of the visibility of the glass and not go too dark.

I tinted my T's myself with 5%, no problems so far in the Texas heat.
