********. They'll be getting calls from me for sure.
Edit: I talked w/the offices of my reps, apparently the bill is in conference right now and the vote should be completed by Tuesday. The guy I talked to(Trent @ Rep. Jim L. Jackson's office) said he was optimistic about it getting passed. So......down with front plates!!!

My house rep John Davis's office is directly above mine. I'll give them a call. I will also see what I can do about getting a minute of his time next time he is in the office.

I wrote a letter to the Governor about this a couple of months ago. On May 10th I received a letter back telling me that this legislation is under consideration. However, it is best to contact the legislators directly. They sent me a list with every legislator for each district and their direct phone number.

Here's the thread from a couple weeks ago about this bill and its progress at the time: https://ls1tech.com/forums/texas-members/317619-front-plate.html
And here's a thread from several months ago about a online petition to get rid of the front plate requirement, which currently has 11,574 signatures: https://ls1tech.com/forums/texas-members/158344-sign-petition-front-license-plate-law.html

Okay, finally found an update!!
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...5&postcount=29 and http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...0&postcount=28 explain that the bill has passed in the Senate, but it was a quite different version than what the House came up with... and appears to no longer include the "no front plate" section. The Senate's version now has to be reviewed by the House as they try to come to a compromise. So it theoretically could still be added back in.

Last I talked w/my reps(when I posted first that I called) they said the house version included the No Front Plate, as well as a shitload of other add-on's. Like electronic tags in the registration stickers...et cetera.
