New Job(s) (Houston)
Well if anyone saw my thread a couple weeks back about sort of getting fired.....
I went on several interviews and got offers from all of them. Last Monday I started a contract job I didn't even interview for. However, today I got offered a direct job (more money) and took that one. I kind of felt bad for quitting the job I just started, but the way things are I gotta look out for me and the family, right?
Anyway I have to pass a drug/alcohol test (NOOO problem) and a physical (hope they're not looking for a triathlete!!)
So it looks like next week I'm an 8-5 guy on a halfway decent salary

Thanks everyone.
I did get paid all I was owed.
Modsquad - the Saturday work was one of the reasons I didn't want to take the DQ job. Guess since they cut Saturday out it's like a pay cut for you, though. As far as if they're hiring more, I'm not sure on that. Their drafting department and HQ used to be in Louisiana but they moved here. As of right now (assuming I pass the physical) I am their drafting department. I don't know what the work load is, but if they're hiring more I'll definitely let you know. If you want to know who is hiring, check with Bill Weaver at AllTech Temps - he may be able to get you into Weatherford. It's M-F 8-5, right there on 529.
Sam' Club - I'm sure I'll go!! After all, Stephen put the manta decals on - gotta show them around, right??
Stephen - I should have ALL weekends off - this place sounds VERY nice as far as scheduling goes. Of course with gas prices I may have to cut a hole in the floor and go Fred Flintstone style......

any of you guys in mechanical engineering or machine drafting? i believe where i work they are bringing on new contract employees. i see them giving new employees tours of the facility at least once a week. i work at FMC Technologies off of tc jester and bw8 north. they manufacture subsea oil production equipment. right now they pretty much own the GoM and are really starting to branch out into other waters. they do have surface equipment but their bread and butter is the subsea business. just thought i would let any of you guys/gals know.

What CAD software are you familiar with? Here at FMC, we use Unigraphics and Microstation. We are in process of upgrading so some are using newer versions than others.
Good luck with the physical. Not much to'em. Turn your head and cough **COUGH**
