Default Teeth bleaching/whitening

Has anyone out there had their teeth bleached? I was looking into having this done and was wondering what was the most effective, longer lasting, and fastest way for brighter/whiter teeth? I keep hearing commercials on the radio about Brite Smile and was wondering if anyone has had this done? They currently have a special going on through the end of August for $100 off. Does anyone know how much this procedure costs? My teeth aren't bad, but having them bleached wouldnt hurt. I really don't wanna waste my time or money with over the counter products, plus they take too long. I see on tv shows how they use lights or lasers. Anyhow, if anyone has done this or has done the research and come up with best way, let me know. Thanks.

The most effective way is the custom trays you get from the dentist. I have tried brite smile and it does not last that long. In my opinion it costs too much for the results to not last a long time. Another effective option are the crest white strips, if used properly, they will make a difference!

Really, wow, I was thinking if anyone posted up about the Brite Smile, they were going to say that its the way to go. How much was the procedure if you dont mind me asking? I really didn't want to bother with the white strips you get from over the counter because they just take too long. According to Brite Smile's site, they "claim" to brighten teeth 9-12 shades in 1 hour while whitening strips only do 3-4 shades in 7-30 days, and the trays do 6 shades, but take 60+ hours. They don't mention how long it lasts though.

the crest white strips do work...They take a little time, but atleast it's not just a one time thing and you can do it whenever you want.

Went to the dentist yeasterday he said for the ones he provides with the mold it is 275 to get it all done

When you say molds, I assume you mean the trays? $275...wow. I'd imagine the Brite Smile is going to be expensive! By the way, none of these procedures are covered by insurance right? Its considered cosmetic.

Crest White Stripes are okay, you will see a difference if you go through a box of them.

I was not impressed enough with the results, so before our wedding I had the casts made and got the plastic overlays. Those were very effective, huge difference. I think our dentist has had specials, like $300 for the overlays plus a small supply of the bleaching paste.

The overlays will take like 4-5 weeks. You can't rush it that much more, because the bleach can be painful and make your teeth too sensitive. I had to take breaks twice because my teeth hurt. But the Crest strips are moderately effective, and will only hit the front teeth, but the overlays are highly effective... like Hollywood stars.

that's true, i guess i didn't really need a lot of whitening anyways so I was happy. But if you want something drastic, get a professional. Over the counter stuff can be a little time consuming too. It's the price that would get me...I'd rather spend the money on my car

You should contact them and tell them you're from Alvin... I hear they give discounts to Alvin residents because most have less than 4 teeth. Might be worth checking out!

I had mine done at the dentist last year. He used a product called Zoom. It cost me 375 and was done in the office in 3, 20 minute sessions all on the same day. I got a set of mouthpieces to take home and wear overnight as well.

Did the tray thing through my dentist. 300 bucks for the trays and 8 syringes of the bleach-goop. Almost a month to use 4 of the 8 syringes, made a huge difference. The other four syringes are in the fridge to use next year for a touchup. Much like Pro Stock John said, you've got to be vaguely sparing with it - if you put too much in the trays your teeth will end up hurting and you'll need to take a day off (may vary with how sensitive your teeth are)

Name on the box is "Opalescence". I'd recommend it to others.

I called my dentist that I've been going to for years for cleanings and whatnot and my dentist retired in June. However, the office is still there and there's a new dentist. Good news is, they do the trays there! $375 and it comes with 2 tubes. Does that sound reasonable?

I tried Brite Smile. That **** hurts! They don't tell you that up front. By the end of it, it's like someone running 120 volts through your gums. I wouldn't recommend it. Just do the trays or the strips.
