misquito? I cant tell. Stay away from watery/damp areas in dusk. or by a citrinella (sp?) candle and be done with it. I never get bitten up unless its chiggers or whatever during our football practice out in a field. Ants are worse IMO than flying stuff.

The only thing I do not like about Texas is how crowded it has become here....

Try Minnesota. They got skeeters up there that will carry away small children.
Or Louisiana in October/November. Anyone here go to the Thunder Shootout 2 years ago? Just walking along at dusk, you could feel walking through clouds of skeeters.

Being an outdoors person and spending a lot of time hiking, fishing, camping, hunting etc; here are a few things I've learned.
Mosquitos & biting gnats, deepwoods Off or the strong Cutters works well. You can also get stronger DEET content solutions from hiking stores. I have some 30% stuff and I've seen stronger.
Houston has some nice large tropical Mosquitos that have moved in since I was a kid living there.
Chiggers, use Absorbine Junior to kill them. Seems to work better than Campho for me because it'll penetrate. The itchy spot is the live chigger under your skin.
Fireants, learn to stay out of them
Ticks, Off helps but you still gotta check. Wear long socks and tuck your pants in your boots helps also. Fireants also kill them.
Also Cabelas and probably Bass Pro sell bug proof clothing :

Last but not least, some people attract certain things more than others. I do pretty well with mosquitos, ticks and chiggers but fleas will tear me up.
