Iam looking to get different gears for my 00 T/A. Right now i have stock 2.73 gears but i want to go higher with the mods i have
MODS: SLP lid, Ported T/B, undercrank pulley, KOOKS L/T Headers, NGK TR-5 Plugs, MSD wires, Yank 3200 Stall
Should i go with 3.42, 3.43, or 3.73 Motive gears. Ive heard that i may need a ring gear spacer. I dont know much about gears so any input and advice would be helpful Thanks

Julio, what they offer is 3.23, 3.42, 3.73, or 4.10. Most of the time when you change the gear ratio on an LS1/4L60E with a stall you wont pick up much in the 1/4 unless you get aggressive with the suspension and run a taller tire (ET Street) The M6 cars benefit way more than the A4 cars with gear ratio changes. The converter that I put in your car is a very efficient piece. It would respond better to 3.23 or 3.42 at the most. Go any higher and you will take away that mid-range "pull" that the converter is designed to do. I have seen it over and over, shops offering 3.73's and 4.10's for stock automatic cars and install them and end up with little, no, or worse results. There is never a big gain in an A4. Just ask Larry Sample. He started off with a 2.73, went straight to a 4.10, lost ET. I think he tried the 3.73 also eventually got his best results with a 3.42 gear. I personally in my 98 Z went 10.40's consistently with a 4L60E/3.23. I switched to a Turbo 350 and went 10-teens with the same 3.23 10 bolt.

Since you are an a4, I would go with 3.73's. If you were a m6, I would say 4.10's. You will notice a difference! Just had a buddy go from 2.73's to 3.73's and it made a huge difference. Only thing is, you will prolly have to switch to a 3 series carrier, or you gears my whine pretty bad
