Just got hired by JE/Jacobs to work at the Exxon @ Baytown.... Went today to get badge/paperwork and saw a couple of F-BOds in the parking lot... Just wanted to see if any of you guys posted on here...?!??!

Congrats on the job again. Who is your supervisor?
Keep talking to Robert Collins about getting transferred to Bayer or Texas City when there is an opening for an instr. fitter/helper. It will happen eventually. As stated before, definitely be safe not just because you will get blackballed but so you don't get hurt or anyone else hurt.

As of now i am working in the Fab Shop... I have a mentor that i work with, and he's helping me learn the ropes of his craft (welder and pipe fitter) I have it made; since i'm in doors and in the AC

Thinking of changing my craft to welder but not sure yet.... I've heard Inst. is really laid back..... but i wanta learn how to weld as well..... Once again thanks every one....

Welding is good but instrumentation will take you further, you can learn alot as a welder but the effects are not great. Alot of welders will end up having bad eyesight and even though the safety standards are getting better, they still breath in alot of fumes and metallic particles. In the end do whatever is gonna make you happy, but instrumentation will be more stable in the long run.
