Fastest streetcar shakedown @ Texas Motorplex
Hey guys on August 19th Texas Motorplex will be hosting The Fastest Streetcar Shakedown. I went last time and had a blast. For those of you who dont know they have different classes to race in such as.......Fastest streetcar, street car index classes 11.50 class, 12.50 class, 13.50 class, and 14.50 class. $3000 to the fastest street car and $1000 to the second fastest. All NHRA rules apply. Must be tagged and inspected......must have valid insurance and registration. Gates open at 4.00pm, time trails start at 6.00pm you must check in and they have to inspect your car before you can run........13.99 and faster you need a HELMET......REMEMBER to bring a helmet if you run faster than that or you can't run again. Index eliminations start at 8.30 pm, and the fastest street car shakedown is at 10.30. Admissions......fastest street car $40, street car index classes $20, Spectator $10. Hope to see ya'll out there!

I suspect that is because "street car" and "NHRA legal" in the same sentence doesn't compute. Fire suits, cage certification, rear external electrical shut offs, and such make it hard on a TRUE street car.
