Default Someone tried to steal my truck today.

In the middle of the day, around 5:30 pm.

Location: Wal-Mart on FM 1960 near Lake Houston Pkwy (Atascosita)

They pried underneath the door handle to get inside, and tried jamming something into the ignition key hole. The lower dash panel was also popped off. My Wife took the truck grocery shopping and was only inside for 15 minutes. I'm guessing they couldn't get it started, so they bailed.

the truck is a 2006 Dodge Ram 4x4 diesel. They didn't steal anything inside, even had my Escort Radar and a bunch of CD's sitting there. They wanted the truck.

Some people should just die.

At least they didnt get anything from you.

How much damage did they do to the truck, aside from some scratches and I'm guessing a new ignition.

one small chip under the door handle. Barely even bent the metal, looks like they were trying to be careful with it. I can touch it up no prob. Just pisses me off more than anything. I seriously hope that those thieves and their entire family gets run over by a bus....twice.

I wonder if the diesel trucks are hard to steal or something? Time for lojack perhaps.

A buddy of mine's brand new F-250 with 22's and a pretty big lift was stolen a few weeks back from the galleria area when he was inside at a meeting. They found it and the thieves later that afternoon stripping it down on the north side of town.

That totally sucks. That's my fear everytime we go into a store. Those punks only need a few minutes and their gone

I'm glad they didn't get though.

I saw some sort of anti-theft device in a recent magazine. Looked like a plug with 16 pins in it. Link here: http://www.ravelco.com I think I'm going to look into having one installed now. Then maybe get some decals made for the window that say:

**** YOU THIEF
THIS ONE HAS A PLUG

i agree with that write up as well.....ravelco is the way to go. it's best to keep them from taking it rather than having the cops try to find it.

at least your wife was not around them when they decided to take it....you can always replace the truck!
