woot woot what an awsome time, the 70 percent rain clouds keept the sun off of the track for hours! i was there from 12 to about 11....loooong *** time. the best part was the streaker and when she flashed everyone on the jumbo tron! yeah i bet the one's that didnt go wished they had gone now! lot of ls1 cars where present, not super concentrated at one spot, but scattered everywhere, still was good time

The premise of the show had merit...but the majority of the "sweet 16" were full blown RACE cars...then they turned the heads up/all out racing into a 10.0 index

I won't be going to the next one

I went. I was very disappointed that they chose mostly all old cars that could not have made a 5 mile trip down the rode and defintely couldnt get inspected. If you didnt have a 10.o car or a C6 vette there was no chance. I was in a disappointingly slow bolt on formula.

So 10.0 is the fastest they allowed any car to go? If so I'm glad we didn't make the trip out there after all.

They had a bunch of badass cars running faster than 10.0 but they chose a "close" race setup which ended up just being a 10.0 index race. Too long and boring for me to go again. Jumbotron ***** was funny, that guy became everyones hero in like 3 seconds!

The cars had to run a 9.5 or above. If they broke out they got kicked out. It wasnt what i thought it would be almost seemed staged. I stayed till the end. The chevelle that was running to truck at the 10000$ race just wouldnt start up. When they finaly got it started they staged to it broke down in the staging lane, then it just started back up on its own. Who ever didnt go you didnt miss out on anything.

I saw your car out there reject looked pretty clean. But i bet it wasnt after you got out of there. We could hardly see out our windows.

Went with Duy, car ran a 9.7 first time with no spray. Didnt get picked for the "16" but i thought this was "street car only" i think it was retarded how they chose the cars it seemed like a waste of time. And all the cars they picked were shitty looking. And like stated before, all were race cars, i think it is stupid that u have to have inspection, title, insurance for a "street car" and then none of the damn cars in the "16" were street. Gay if u ask me...When we found out we didnt get chosen we just left.

Guess we should have stayed for the streaker

It did seem to be staged the way the Chevelle broke, then started up on it's own, then lost to the female in the truck. I think they wanted that truck to win the whole thing. And I agree with the "street car" comments. All in all, I had a good time but there was a lot of sitting around.

It's quite obvious what is a street car versus the dedicated Drag race car. Most of the 9 and 10 second cars running were built exclusively as a 1/4 mile Dragster w/ absoultely no other purpose. There are plenty of sponsored race events for cars like these. It absolutely drives me crazy that they are allowed to participate in an event advertised as a STREET car competition. Its like adults playing in a kids sporting event.

IMHO, if you have to trailer it to the tract and can't drive it to/from the track (much less, drive it as a daily driver) it's NOT a street car. A street car should also have air conditioning, stereo, and seats for the driver and passenger(s). This is where you draw the line. Anything else is nothing more than a Drag race car. You might as well allow NitroMethane funny cars to participate.

The vettes, Grand National, Iroc Camaro, mustang, and maybe the red Chevelle, were the only true 10 second street cars in the sweet 16 last night. My hats off to them. Those were the truely awesome Street cars.
Just my 2 cents.
This car is local to me and they said the the people holding the event invited him. The car got inspected like two days berfore the race. They say it is stret legal with working lights and horn. That car is anything but a street car. When the local guys starting talking **** he said that he would drive it to any Sonic in town.

A complete waste of time. How can you have a race with 4 hours of NO RACING, just waiting.Man that pissed me off.The whole race was a joke.Pinks only wanted to make their tv show they didnt give a **** if it was entertaining or not.Atleast it was only $10.You only got to make 2 time trial passes and the second one you couldnt get your time,no time slip or scoreboard, that sucked a big one. There were alot of fbodys that showed up which was great but not to many were real fast, some were even getting our *** kicked by those ******* imports.Damn I hate being 1500lbs heavier than those bastards. But I will never waste my time going back to another Pinks race. And to bitch alittle more those stupid *** weathermen around big-d need to trash that high dollar computer and learn how to read the weather the old fashion way.High 80's and 70% chance of rain....Try damn near 100 and not a drop....

Shoulda been like true street in Fun Ford. Gotta make a 30 mile cruise without breaking down and once the race starts the hoods cant be opened. Only thing you can do is add ice to the intercooler if it needs it and change tire pressure. I know of street cars that have chutes and dont have a/c etc...He'll if a/c is a factor and a stereo then my 69 camaro that runs 13s isn't a street car because it doesn't have either yet i drove it all the time. Lots needs to be fixed in that series to be any kind of entertaining but it does have potential. Next time have a cruise and just run it all out like the title says.

Yeah, it was a ******* joke... We got pissed when they said the girl in the white chevy was sand baggin cause the car all the sudden went faster in cooler weather. I was listening to the conversation on my phone and she strait up told them it was a 9.40 car in good weather, she did pedal it down track (cause she new it was going too fast) but they made up the story that they told the crowd over the P.A. about he sand bagging earlier in the day.

On top of that there was more sitting then there was racing, they should have known there would be fights in a crowd that size that is just standing there with no entertainment.

It was still a fun weekend though, if they do it the same way next time just build a 10.0 bracket car and win some cash.

haha..thats funny hearing a bunch oh LS1s crying about getting spanked by some imports...

but yeah it was a waste of time...No wonder they were telling us to keep it at 10.0...we tried to do that but still ran a 9.7...and then when we lined up against that red camaro, we didnt want to lose so we ran full power and put a hurting on that camaro..it was a low 9 second pass..I know they liked our car because they talked to us and checked the car out really well, but when we ran too fast i think they didnt want a low 9 second car to spank the 10.0 cars they picked..
