The "street car" thing like i said before pissed me off the most. And the event was unorganized, it seemed they made the rules up as they go. Just some TV bullshit as stated above. Not ever going again

My dads freinds works at USA Camaros and he is looking for a camaro for me. Were looking for a higher mileage camaro and my dad is going to have the engine rebuilt and add aftermarket heads, cam, and a 4.10 gear rear end.

i was both impressed and not impressed.
impressed by how many f'n fast azz street cars are here in tx..simply amazing.

not impressed by the structure/organization of the promoters....joke.

these peeps are NOT into this because they are gear heads or into the sport/street scene. they are in it to make $. nothing more.

it was ok for $10. but i expected more.
once they turned it into a 10.0 race i left.
thought they should have picked cars from every bracket and made them go heads up.
giving EVERYBODY including the weekend warriors a chance to gain from thier efforts, not just the full blown racers. 99% of which wouldnt drive those cars to the grocery store or to the cleaners to pick up clothes.

FWIW
peace

On top of that there was more sitting then there was racing, they should have known there would be fights in a crowd that size that is just standing there with no entertainment.

It was still a fun weekend though, if they do it the same way next time just build a 10.0 bracket car and win some cash.
yeah same thoughts here man, you know what you need to aim for next year lol ...... best part of the night was the boobatron and when when you guys were yelling at the rx-7 that got burned by the stang, that was great .... also the crowd went freaking insane when that stang beat the rx-7 then the cops told the rx-7 crew they had to leave the staging area

No ****.

I found out that I brought a knife to a gun fight. How many of those sweet sixteen had a CD player, Cruise control, PW/PL, overdrive tranny, etc?

We didn't stand a chance Ray.

Street cars my ***. We were mislead.

I knew I didn't stand a chance when I was told to take the bottle out of the car and if they saw me in the staging lane with the bottle I would be sent home

Holy ****! The long-haired blond gal in the white '50's truck won the whole thing? We got disgusted and hungry and left before the competition really got underway. Figured I would hear the outcome soon enough.

Man, I better stop typing now or I'm going to sound like a hater.

Ooops too late, I'm still typing. I was next to her in the tech line (2.5 hours that is ). They were already sticking their noses up her *** at that point. She got interviewed on camera while waiting to get tech'd in, so I suspect they were picking favorites early. Then she kinda pissed us off before my first pass as they called lanes 2-5 for the first time trial. Well, she comes up, goes around everybody, and parks up front in lane 1. Guess she was special to begin with.

I don't know her, and maybe I shouldn't be critical... but her truck was as much a street car as my tow rig Silverado HD is a race car. Can't blame her for the PINKS producers decision, but damn...

but yeah it was a waste of time...No wonder they were telling us to keep it at 10.0...we tried to do that but still ran a 9.7...and then when we lined up against that red camaro, we didnt want to lose so we ran full power and put a hurting on that camaro..it was a low 9 second pass..I know they liked our car because they talked to us and checked the car out really well, but when we ran too fast i think they didnt want a low 9 second car to spank the 10.0 cars they picked..
Duy, I went a 9.50 w/out the gas and they let me run........ They also said to pull my bottle. but they did want 9.50-10.00 cars I belive-Ryan

I saw the Blue Beast make a pass out there in the second round of Time trials. Looked nice. I didn't like how the "street car" that won it was running on methanol and had to cool down for 5 minutes after each run. Really gay.

The turbo Regal that had blew up? That was unfortunate that car looked nice.

A friend of mine runs fun ford events and he has to go on a 30 min cruise and can't open his hood afterwards, I think if they did that it would have been alot more street friendly. But its their show not mine, I just thought they wanted a place for street cars to compete.

Nice Pics TWS.
