Just an FYI, I was looking for a chrome wheel cleaner about a month ago. I went to Hi-Lo and the guy told me the absolute best chrome wheel cleaner is this stuff called Purple Power. To tell you the honest truth, I have spent money on various other pastes and cleaners, and this is by far the best wheel cleaner I have ever purchased....not to mention you get a huge bottle for $3.65! Check it out, the stuff is awesome. Best of luck!

It only works on chrome wheels, its a de-greaser. If you use it on anything else, it wont work. Like I said, it has worked perfectly for me.....the guy owns his own detailing business, the advice worked well for me.

I think Mothers Chrome Polish is the best. I used it on my uncles rims which havent been cleaned in about 6 months and had a lot of brake dust that wouldnt come off. I took me about 30mins a rim but when I was done they looked brand new. But thats only if your rims havent been cleaned in a long time. If theyre still good someone already said that foam window cleaner in the blue bottle that works good.

I own my own detailing business and if your wheels really are chrome, then a diluted rubbing alcohol solution is your absolute best cleaner. The alcohol will remove all the grime, help remove some of the pit marks, and can get your wheels cleaner and brighter than any other cleaner I have ever tried. Again this will only work if the wheels are truly chrome, but its all I use on chrome.

Well, they're chrome snowflakes (2001-2002 Z28 wheels).

Never heard of steelwool before but it might work. The best product yet, which I think is God's gift to chrome rims, is Eagle One Chrome and Spoke wheel cleaner. Its about 7 bucks for a regular size bottle at any vatozone. Spray it on all wheels, wait a couple of minutes and get a rag with a bucket of water, hose down the rims and just go over it briefly with a wet rag. I remember when I had to crouch down and do each rim individually. Trust me, this **** is awesome!!!

A side note however; This **** is so chemically abrasive that if you get it on your drive way, you'll always know where you applied it. It does stain driveways.
