Default Keep the Lightning?

I have a 2003 lightning with some nice mods, but I am somewhat looking at a silverado ss. Would be nice to have the all wheel drive and an extended cab. But I know I'll miss the lightning.

The Siverado SS is slow, you'll miss the power of a Lightning. Stock vs Stock, a L will run many circles around them.

Cummins are great, just wrapped in pure **** (aka: Dodge).

Keep the Lightning, I miss my 02

Get you a clean ss pickup. You'll save money in the long run. The duramax and the stroke are both a piece of **** take it from the mechanic who has to work on them and I am a die hard gm guy. If you want a good diesel get a dodge. But with a diesel anything you think you save you lose big time in the long run when something does die on you repairs start at 1500 and go up from there. a 6.0 lq9 in an awd ss truck you can put 150k plus on it and not have to worry about a damm thing except a fuel pump around 90-100k and a transmission around 150k. This is assuming it does not in the future or has not in the past had the **** run out it. It's kinds like a sports car they come one of two ways babied or hammered. Plus the less money you spend on payments is more money for mods. New car smell is too damm expensive. Good luck with your choice. The lightning is a very nice respectable truck it just does not have much room for the inevitable expansion we all go through at some point in time.

I voted keep the L becaue your other 2 options are ****. AWD in an already heavy *** truck would be no fun and the Duramax sucks *****. Like it was said earlier, Cummins is respectful... but its in a Dodge. I am a die hard GM fan, but if you are going diesel..... Powerstroke all the way. I have 2 friends (I am sure I know more) that have the Powerstroke, one has about 150k on it and the only thing he has had to replace is the water pump. The other friend had about 120k on his before he traded it in and the only thing he had to do was replace the gasket on the fuel filter cap.

EDIT-Both of those trucks got the **** kicked out of them on a regular basis.
