Is the Lightning discontinued? Friend and I were talkin about this the other day and couldn't determine whether the Lightning was dicontinued or not. Searched around and found a concept photo but that's it. Anyone in the know?

04 is the last year. I know because that's what I have lol. Ford and SVT planned on bringing out a Lightning for 06, and they were even taking orders for them and doing "power leases" on 04 Lightnings so you could be first in line for the new ones. Supposedly they wanted to focus all their resources on the new GT500, and they were having problems with the Lightning being too heavy. Couldn't keep transmissions in it.
Personally, I don't think the new body style makes a good sport truck. Too boxy and bulky.

they scrapped the lightning plan and changed it over onto the new sport trac, but then they scrapped that idea aswell. there are no plans for any kind of high performance truck/SUV as of now

SVT is still around and the new Cobra is still an SVT vehicle it is just licesned as a Shelby, if you look at the Valve Covers of the new 2007 Cobra they say "POWERED BY SVT" also the tach on the instrument cluster says SVT....and all the concept vehicles have SVT plates on them, heres a website w/ proof.... http://www.autobytel.com/content/sha...cle_id_int/576
