There is so much to say! Our troops are in harms way for a good reason. Would there be a France, Russia, would the jews still be alive? These are the good things we have done in history. We have many buried in these countries defending there lively hood. Now we are doing it for the Iraq`s. I have family over there. They agree on what they are doing!And I support them! As for the Dem! I really look forward to them fixing everything! Immagration, welfare, security for our country! Cut our taxes! Yea right. Give more to the poor! Raise our taxes! It goes on and on. I believe Bush is a good christian! He is just in a tough position! Not many presidents have been threw what he has! God Bless our Troops!

I'm an 11-year Army veteran. Now a fat and happy civilian. My 11 years of service don't make me an expert on international politics or warfare... but they do make me opinionated. 
The Geneva Convention does NOT apply to terrorists, or even the insurgents in Iraq. They do not wear a uniform. They are not fighting openly, rather they hide among women, children and the general population. They do not abide by the Geneva Convention themselves. Kidnapping and beheading people on video tape or planting bombs in crowded markets does not entitle them to any respect, much less protection under a convention that they do not adhere to themselves.
I am continually amazed that the far left in America cannot recognize the common sense of what I just wrote above.
Countries like France... they don't surprise me. The last time the French had any real ***** was when Napoleon was running the place.

We held that to our highest standard. there was no torture or anything of the like going on. We gave them medical, dental, 3 square meals, and a place to sleep. they had everything they needed. they were even given the koran for prayer. when they were taken out of there cells, they were guarded but not beaten, or deprived of food, watter. so please enlighten me and the rest of the forum as to where you are getting your info. I can go on about how well they were treated compared to where they lived.
I'm sorry, but I am neither a soldier or a politician. However, I don't feel that things like "geneva convention" and "human rights" belong in the same sentence as terroism.

As far as Katrina, there were Coast Guard on sight within the hour after the hurricane hit helping people. If you want to pass blame start locally and go out from there.

The swirl of blame game surrounding Katrina is a masterpiece of propaganda from the far left of the democratic party. There was a democrat mayor (Nagin) and a democrat governor (Blanco), but somehow the federal government gets blamed because the local response sucked? Maybe it's because the first republican in that chain was all the way up in Washington?
Yeah that Brown guy at FEMA comes off like an idiot, and there is plenty of blame to go around... but it was a grand achievement of the democrats to sell the big lie of blaming the entire thing on President Bush.
