Got my CHL...
The Bersa Thunder - 9mm SA
Very light and easy to hold - I looked @ one at Academy..
I really like the Baby Eagles, too..

I also like alot of Charles Daly pistols..

but I believe a .45 would be too much to carry - I'm really looking for a nice 9mm. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

..I don't like glocks..pardon me for being a female but I just don't like their styling. I know they're composite and made to be dragged through the sand..water etc and still shoot but I just don't like them...
And looking at the sigs (www.sigarms.com) ... I'm actually very interested now. Will have to locate a dealer and see what I can do. Thanks again for the advice!
I'm from central texas (temple/killeen/waco area) and a local gun shop actually has the class. Weber's Guns - they have a shop in temple and they had their class out @ their range. The guy that taught it was old and funny. I was the only girl in the class annd at the range it was 'Ladies first' but I held my own

To the original poster, you have a pretty wide variety of options as far as carry. First and foremost, what is your budget? Have you shot the guns you posted, or just held/felt them?
I would stay away from the Deagle/Baby versions - IMO, they are heavy and overpriced. Kind of like buying a diesel, 4x4, long wheel base, HD dually so you have something you tow a jetski. For a first gun, I'd buy something more popular and something known for its reliability. Deagles are not!
I tried to carry a service model Springfield XD 9mm, but its just too big to carry in warm weather. For everyday carry, I find that the .38sp snubnose hammerless revolver tucks closely and its pretty well concealable for me. However, you've got a purse, so width isn't as big of a deal. Make sure you bring your purse when you look at guns and practice drawing the gun from your purse. A big gun might be hard to unsheath while a small gun might be hard to grab ahold of.
Edit: Its hard to beat the Springfield XD for price, reliability, and performance. Hit the range and check them out. They are similar to the Glock, but they offer a grip safety. Also, it seems like you have a thing for stainless which is available on the springfields.
