Back in the fold again! What to mod next?!
I figured I'd post this for the folks that run in TX since that is the air I will be running in also.
I got a 98 WS6 Convertible and it has the following mods. I want 11's n/a and 10's on spray. What do you suggest?? What do you think it'll run now?
* Thunder Racing 224/224 .563 .563 112lsa CAM
* Titanium Retainers
* Comp 918 Springs
* TCI SSF 3500 stall converter
* B&M Trans cooler
* Holley Cool Blue Air filter
* Smooth Bellows
* MAC off Road y-pipe
* Dyno Max Bullet
* Granatelli Air Lid Tuned with HP tuners
Good to be back!!!!

Don't know if you have them, but a ls6 intake, pulley, headers, and a throttle body. With what you I have I say 11's are probaly there, but with the mods suggested, you will definately be in the 11's.

if 11's are already there, that'd be awesome! If I just needed a 125-150 shot of nitrous to get to 10's then I guess I would be at my goal. But with all the stuff I still could do, I don't know if I would be satisfied LOL. I'd probably want to see about mid 11's or even dipping 10s n/a. I figured though if I could hit around 11.70ish n/a and 10.90's on spray only a handful of times, i could keep my drivetrain for a while.

not sure if this is correct... but wouldnt a cam with a larger split be better for nitrous apps? like say a 224/228... correct me if i'm wrong
aside from that, i hear good things about the 224 cam in the LS1 world, good all around power, and very streetable

ooooooh ok i miss read... i thought that was your list of stuff to buy.
ya 11's are easily attainable with those mods, especially since you have a stall, and the cam... just get a good short time and you will be good to go.
spray should def. put you in the 10's if you do it right.

Nine Ball I have had plenty of fast cars in the past, and now I think I just want something that I don't have to worry *as much* about in terms of maintenence and things breaking For now, 11's is fast enough for me!
I still remember my old IROC owning most everything I ran up against on the street, running low 13's. Now 11's just seems middle of the road!

ya you'll obviously need the supporting mods for that cam, like exhaust and intake... but yes with all of that an nitrous you can hit 11's...
i know a guy that had a ls1 convertible ws6 that was bone stock with nitrous and drag radials that was hitting low 12's high 11's.

It cost $15,680, is mint condition, and 38,000 miles. Here are some pics: www.tannercreative.com/ws6vert
one pic here for those who don't want to click:
There were only 339 WS6 Verts made in '98, (lowest of all years) and only about 100 that were black / autos which is exactly what I wanted

From what I hear verts are only about 100-120 lbs heavier, so while I'm pretty certain it can't do it SI like I was hoping (and don't want to now anyway since it already has a cam) I think I will be able to with some more supporting mods, fingers crossed!
