Default My car sounds like an old man dying when i turn the ignition

does ne one have this problem? my car will not turn on with one turn of the key. i find that it is only in hot weather, or when the car is hot. it doesnt do it if it's cold out, or in d morning. i dont know what it is. i know i need to get a new o2 sensor. could that be it?

i changed out the spark plugs last year, and the fuel filter. didnt do the wires could that be it?

lastly i took it to the dealer and those bastards said nothing was wrong with it and every time they cranked it over it turned on fine. i get in my car, turn it off, crank it over and it wont start.

ne ideas what i should change or look into?

Sounds like the ignition switch could be going out. Thats only if by not "turning on" you mean not even attempting to turn over....

sounds like a "heat soaked" starter solenoid. Replace the starter and you should be fine.

Ive went through 2 starters so far with my car the second one I wrapped with some high temp tape so the header heat would be more friendly on it.

I would try checking the starter as well.

Another hint...I had a starter on the car that wouldnt do anything(crank, throw the solenoid out) but it tested good at a local autoparts store. I figured since it had 100,000+ miles on it I would replace it anyway, well the new starter solved the problem. Kinda wierd but my car started after it so it fixed it.

Because it cooled off, I had one do that to me, had me stumped, took it to Rick and Josh at HPE and they figured it out.
