Here's the Blue Beast in happier days.

And next is how she sits now, awaiting a new powerplant.

Tranny is going back over to Ricky. Getting the new hardened input shaft, 5-pinion planetaries from the new Escalade, and the new Art Carr drum. She was built to the hilt 3 years ago, but now some better parts have come along and we are going to upgrade now, rather than break it and upgrade later.

Nice to see it is almost done. Did the 383 blow up or did you just want a new motor?

Long story short, along the lines of he was told it was a nitrous motor, and it was NOT a nitrous motor.

Cars dont blow up, they make upgrading necessary

Actually I wasn't told jack **** about the ring gap. Tanner didn't use happy gas, so we never knew the ring end gap was too small for the hose. Who would have thought they would butt ends and lift ring lands on a focking 100-shot?

Yeah, Thomas, that's what happened. Broke ring lands on 2 pistons and melted the ring land slightly on a third.

My old motor will live again. A buddy is buying everything but the block (and pistons of course).

You got it Tony! I better start cheesing up to your wife so she'll let you come out and spin wrenches/tap the laptop keyboard.

I still have to get the tranny over to Rick, but plan on taking care of that next week.

In couple months we'll have her put together, tuned and ready.

Thanks Tyler, J-M and Neil.

Yeah, should be a fun ride when it is all back together. Once all the bugs are worked out, I'll spray it in the attempt for a 9 Sec. slip, but they'll kick me out after one pass like that. That will be fine and I'll go home happy. The rest of the time I'll run NA or with a smaller shot.

Todd. You will need a dedicated fuel system to spray that big. So......................GET ONE!

You know most people when their cars go down for mods, they feel withdrawls from not driving it, a 94 Buick Century starts feeling quick to them, but I think Todds the exception to that rule with 4 other modfied Camaros to drive

We're going to fortify the 4L60E even further to see if it'll live behind this new motor. It was a max effort build about 3 years ago, but some new parts have come into existence since then. So... they are going in!

It would appear that way from my sig. However the Smurf is in storage at a buddy's shop in Georgetown, the Garage Queen just got put away for the winter, and my wife doesn't let me take her car very often. D'oh.

I've still got Squeaky to play with. Otherwise I'm just cruising around in my big *** red truck.
