So tell us, Kev; what's the best way to try to get out of a ticket? I've always wanted a police officer's advice on that matter.

Damn, it's so hard to tell nowadays. So many guys have a stick up their *** that you can never tell if being nice is gonna get you run over or, if the officer will give you a break.

Personally, (and some of you may have seen me go off on here for the same reason) I always was really easy to get along with when stopping traffic. I was polite and business like and let the driver I was stopping dictate how everyting proceeded. I typically gave as many warnings out per shift as I did cit's BUT...someone started mouthing off or being a demanding little smartass....well...easy to figure out.

Lately, I have heard so many bad experience stories. While there are 2 sides to every story, I tend to view alot of young officers as dicks....

again....that's why I'm glad I don't have to run traffic no more.

Thanks Kev. I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

Ever let anyone go for street racing?

hey kev... do cops have quotas anymore? i hear a lot say they dont but ive always been curious... u can pm me if u want

I have a couple of friends that are local law enforcement and they both have said the samething, that the attitude of the driver being pulled over has a direct affect on the officer's attitude. But, like he said, some have sticks up their rears and it doesn't matter what the driver does.

You could actually fight that. IIRC the cops have to contend with a 5% variance in speedometer accuracy.

Isnt there also a requirement to retune the radar for each pull over? Or is that just urban myth?

I'm pretty sure that's false. They do have to have them calibrated every so often though. I think it's a matter of months though.
