how easy is it to...

change ur fuel filter?

ne of you change ur fuel fitlers on ur own? the reason i ask is because today i went to get my oil changed...the guy put my car on the lift...i was checking things out under there and i noticed the fuel fitler was under the car near the rear of the driver side door...correct? and it looked pretty easy to unscrew and replace...right?

well several months back i took my car to one of my buddys dads shop for a tune up, well i took in a fuel filter...and they tell me its gonna be pretty expensive for labor to change ur filter because we have to remove the get to it by doing some work on ur fuel tank, i cant remember exactly what was said...i say ok. i mean theyre suppossed to be cool with me so i didnt think they would **** me. but they did, didnt they?

ne ways i just wanted to ask u guys if its pretty simple to replace the fuel filter?

also...what brand shocks did stock come with?

Fuel filter is an easy change, especially with a lift at your disposal.

The fuel filter can be done in 5 minutes, It sounds like they are talking about the fuel pump, which is in fact a bitch

First section you are talking about the filter...sounds like the shop is talking about the fuel pump. As far as the fuel filter is concerned, it is relativly easy to do even without a lift. Jack up the rear end and get after it. Just make sure you do it in a well ventilated area cause you will spill some gas.

no i took in a fuel filter, i know the fuel pump would be a bitch, but i took in a fuel filter to be changed, well ne one know a good mechanic in houston that wont rip u off?

Wow, yeah... you're getting screwed if they charge you more than like $20 to do it (more like $10, because it's a 2 minute job). The first thing I ever did on my car was a fuel filter change.

Just do it yourself, it will be a waste of money to go to a shop for a fuel filter change...

do u need to secure ne lines? is fuel gonna splatter out when i unscrew the old filter off?

if you do it the correct way no fuel will spill, but if you do it the faster and easier way like most everyone does some will spill. No, you dont need to secure the fuel lines. They will be secured where they are at.
