Default Heads or Spray???

I am planning on either getting a set of AFR 225 heads that have a few miles on them or a wet kit/ 150. Which do you think would be better? I like the idea of having the good heads on the car but as for dollar per horsepower the spray wins handsdown. HELP please.

I'd say with changing the heads you'd be lucky to pick up another 10-20 rwhp over the MTI stage II R heads . Probably not enough to even notice a big difference at the power level your at on motor (i'm assuming around 500 -520 rwhp). I'd put the gas on for sure and make some big power!

I agree with these guys, laughing gas all the way with where you're at. Unless you can pick the new heads up cheap enough and sale your old ones and still have the money to buy the gas too.

Yea my dad is trying to get me to get the heads. He told me that 5ish is enough for now. I think he just wants my heads for the other shortblock that I gave him. I am more leaning towards the spray, thanks for yall's support.

I personally would rather do heads first. Spray is a great way to end your project - you can save the final big kick for last, and plus, you can prolong your engine seeing the ol' n2o for as long as possible. Thats what I'm doing anyway. I was thinking about spray now myself, but I'd rather run n/a for a half a year to a year and then put a kit on.

Neither. Leave it alone. It's fast enough. You’ll need that extra money for when the transmission and rear-end blow into 1000 pieces.

Ahh! Go with the spray. If you are in the giving mood, buy your dad a set of CNC'd LS6 heads. They're a good bang for the buck.

I refuse to buy dad a set of heads for it. I am getting him a new welding machine for his bday this weekend or next. Also, if I were to get him heads, he would never finish his damn 454!
